Sri Gaura Purnima 2020 Celebration Cancelled
Hare Krishna dear devotees. It is with a heavy but precautionary heart that we are announcing the cancelling of all gatherings at the temple - including our Gaura Purnima festival this weekend as well as Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday classes - until further notice. In the last 48 hours we have seen the same steps made by the Los Angeles, San Diego, and Washington DC temples and we expect more to come soon, so we are following their example at the advice of our GBC authorities in ISKCON. We are anxious for this unfortunate virus to run its course at which time we can resume our regular programs and festivals. For those who donated to our festival this weekend and would like to seek reimbursement, just reach out to Devananda das or Bhagavat Priya das. The temple room will remain open for darshan and we will be releasing times that the temple room will be open shortly. We want to thank our entire sangha for their understanding in an effort to prevent the further spread of this virus so we can all get back to the transcendental spreading of Sri Caitanya's sankirtan movement. In the meantime we want to encourage everyone to stay connected via these whatsapp groups and continue their sadhana by engaging in chanting, reading Srila Prabhupada's books, and service daily to your deities/altars at home. Krishna will give us shelter until this storm has passed just as when He lifted Govardhana Hill, provided we remain close to His lotus feet. We will be updating everyone via email and Facebook this evening and will post more news as we have it. Thank you all for your continued support and love. Hare Krishna
